Volta

Andrea Ferran co-founded VOLTA Play Festival in 2015 to amplify the voices of exceptional playwrights from outside the UK.  The first Festival took place at the Arcola Theatre, London in September 2015 and presented four plays by writers from Austria, Germany, Sweden and the USA. It was nominated for the Off West End IDEA Award.

At VOLTA, Andrea has developed and produced projects by Fausto Paravidino, Roland Schimmelpfennig, Anja Hilling, Pauline Peyrade, Julia Cho, Jonas Hassen Khemiri,  Ewald Palmetshofer, Joël Pommerat, Christopher Chen, Wolfram Lotz, Reihanah Youzbashi Dizaji, Guillermo Calderón, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Jerry Lieblich, Kevin Rittberger, Dea Loher, Silva Semerciyan and Camilla Whitehead, among others.

Since 2015, there have been six editions of the Festival, presenting works by 25 playwrights from 17 countries alongside a full program of community and participation workshops.
