The Sound of a Voice

Hackney House, Arcola Theatre, Southbank Centre
UK Premiere

The SOUND OF A VOICE is Andrea Ferran's second staging of the work of composer Philip Glass. Inspired by the seminal works of Japanese filmmaker Masaki Kobayashi, this exquisite chamber opera written by Tony award-winner David Henry Hwang portrays two haunting visions of loneliness, isolation and loss. Ferran's 'intimate and delicate' production was staged as part of the 2012 Cultural Olympiad and hailed as 'a major coup' by The Guardian.
